Cost Management is an increasingly important factor of concern when dealing with property losses. Whether large or small, the fundamental importance of properly indemnifying an insured comes with many unique challenges that can often be overlooked. Having the correct understanding of these challenges and what to look for becomes an important part of properly establishing an accurate ACV and RCV.

 

This course will review key factors often overlooked when managing a claims' costs including the benefits of CCDC contracts, research methods on current pricing, and building code compliances among others.

Sustainability Within

Insurance Restoration

This course teaches individuals what sustainability is in general and in the context of insurance and restoration. It takes a look at the global perspective of sustainability and the changes in climate, and how that extends to pre and post- loss event services.

The goal of this course is to outline the relevance and importance of sustainable practices and to provide awareness about what companies are doing to show how positively it can impact business and collaboration between companies and the government.

Asbestos Awareness

1.5 CE Credits

The objective of this seminar is to bring awareness to the asbestos hazards regulated under the legislation and those issues that pose a health risk to persons entering or working in impacted buildings.

This 1.5-hour seminar will bring a basic understanding of some the of hazards present in buildings that have had an insurance related loss or for coverage determination.

The Quantity Surveyors Value Proposition

2 CE Credits

This course aims to introduce participants to the role of Quantity Surveyors in the insurance industry and highlight the value they bring to insurance claims. Participants will gain a comprehensive understanding of Quantity Surveying principles and their application in insurance, along with practical case studies and insights into the benefits of engaging Quantity Surveyors in insurance processes. The course will also explore the impact of climate change on insurance claims and concludes with key takeaways for participants. 

Code Upgrades

2 CE Credits

Whenever an inspection or evaluation of a property is in order, particularly in older dwellings, code compliance and upgrades should be kept in mind in order to ensure the property is adhering to all current legislative requirements. This course explores where the codes come from and their purposes for the building integrity, safety and the health of the occupants.

 

The course investigates how risks are managed through code compliance and two primary parts that properties address as well as their occupancy groupings. Code examples are used to review the importance of Code compliance and upgrades in both loss and non-loss situations and things to consider from the insurers regarding codes.
